Built in 1933 to the design of Engenio Miozzi, the Accademia bridge was constructed in wood and later reinforced in steel. The proposal for the new Accademia Bridge is a structure inclusive of a museum and support spaces, a cafe over the canal, gardens and a crossing of the Canale Grande. de by a ramp terminating in a ramp with a landing and stairs.
This tube is a double skin construction with the glass pattern suggestive of the decorative overlay of Venetian patterns. The exhibition spaces are stepped within the tube and accommodate a variety of spatial organizations. The galleries are anchored at the base by a cubic structure that has entry hall, reception, toilets and offices. The second level of the base is an outdoor cafe that projects into the canal.
